Tips for first-time battery use:
Before charging, use the battery until it reaches 20%, then charge it with the phone off (use original charger) for
approximately until fully charged. If the indicator on the phone shows green (full) before it's completely full, continue charging until it truly reaches full capacity so your battery functions optimally.
